Grief Coach in Somerset

I am Nicky Sutton, a Certified Grief Coach in Somerset. In my roles as a celebrant and funeral professional in and around Somerset, I have worked with and supported people at one of the most difficult points in their lives. I began to notice that for some, the support needed ends when the funeral, a direct cremation, or a memorial has taken place.

That realisation led me to train and qualify as a grief coach to be able to offer support beyond the practical and ceremonial aspects of a funeral.

Supporting Those Grieving in Somerset

Many people assume that once the funeral is over, that is it, you somehow move on and life returns to normal. But grief doesn’t work that way, and when you are grieving for someone who has died, life as you knew it is no longer normal.

Beyond the funeral itself, I provide ongoing support to help you navigate your grief and loss, at your own pace, in your own way. You don’t have to face it alone. Grief can appear unexpectedly many weeks or months after a death or a loss of a situation.

What is a Grief Coach?

A grief coach is somebody who is trained in recognising and understanding grief. As a grief coach, I can be that someone to talk to, without expectation or judgement. I can be that someone to sit alongside you as you begin to process what has happened, especially when the experience of loss feels complicated, unfinished, or difficult to make sense of.

Grief doesn’t follow a structure or a timeline. It can show up in ways people don’t expect; quietly, heavily, or not at all for a while. And when there hasn’t been a clear moment of acknowledgement or goodbye, those feelings can feel even harder to place. Sadly I am supporting many people who have expressed their grief has been heightened from the decision to have a direct cremation and them being unable to say goodbye.

Support When Grieving

Having the right support doesn’t take grief away, but it can make it feel less overwhelming. It can help people understand what they’re experiencing. It can help them to find their own way through it, and feel a little less alone in the process.

Although I am a grief coach in Somerset, it can be possible to arrange meetings if you are in a different area. f you are experiencing grief and would like some support, please contact me to arrange a meeting.
